Services for Professionals

Children’s Therapy Tasmania works alongside professionals who support children, young people, and families across Tasmania. We provide trauma-informed therapeutic services, supervision, consultation, and professional support grounded in ethical, collaborative, and child-centred practice.

Whether you’re seeking a referral partner for a child or family, professional supervision, clinical consultation, training, or counselling support for yourself or your team, we offer thoughtful services that prioritise safety, clarity, and connection.

A Collaborative Partner for Professionals

We understand the responsibility professionals carry when supporting children and families, particularly in complex, trauma-impacted, or multi-system contexts.

Our approach is collaborative, not competitive. We aim to complement existing supports, respect professional roles, and communicate clearly and ethically.

Professionals refer to Children’s Therapy Tasmania because they value:

  • Trauma-informed and child-centred care

  • Clear communication and professional boundaries

  • Reflective, ethical clinical practice

  • Collaboration with schools, services, and practitioners

  • Thoughtful decision-making for complex presentations

Clinical Supervision

Reflective supervision for professionals working with children, young people, and families.

Supervision supports ethical practice, professional growth, and practitioner wellbeing. We offer:

  • Individual supervision

  • Group supervision

Supervision is trauma-informed, reflective, and grounded in curiosity rather than performance.

Clinical Consultation

Consultation for complex presentations, systems work, or decision-making.

Clinical consultation is available for:

  • Allied health professionals

  • Educators and school staff

  • Child protection and family services

  • Community and support workers

Consultation supports clarity, shared thinking, and confidence in next steps.

Professional Training and Development

Training and professional learning for those working with children and families.

Training may include:

  • Trauma-informed and trauma-responsive practice

  • Reflective practice and practitioner wellbeing

  • Child development and emotional regulation

  • Working with complexity, systems, and safety

Training can be delivered online or in person, depending on needs.

Counselling and Support for Professionals

Confidential counselling support for professionals.

Working with children and families can be emotionally demanding. We offer counselling support for professionals seeking:

  • A space to process work-related stress

  • Support following critical incidents or cumulative load

  • Reflective, confidential therapeutic care

This service is distinct from supervision and prioritises your wellbeing.

Referring Children and Families

Professionals can refer children and families for trauma-informed counselling and play therapy services.

We work respectfully alongside existing supports and aim to maintain clear communication with referrers, where consent allows.

Submit a Referral Form

A referral can be made via our website, phone or by using our paper form and takes less than 2 minutes to complete. Consent from the family must be obtained.

We Review & Make Contact

We’ll review the referral and make contact with the family via phone, SMS or email. We’ll let them know our availability and invite them to schedule a first appointment together.

Ongoing Collaboration

We’ll collaborate together as appropriate and when consent has been provided.
