Therapeutic Response Plans
Some children need more than individual therapy. They need a well-considered, coordinated plan that brings their support team together with purpose and clarity. Our Therapeutic Response Plans provide a trauma-informed, child-centred framework to guide everyone working with a child toward consistent, compassionate and effective support.
-
A Therapeutic Response Plan (TRP) is a collaborative, written framework developed by a qualified therapist to help children, families, and professionals respond to a child’s emotional, behavioural or developmental needs in a cohesive, informed way.
It includes:
A holistic picture of the child’s needs, strengths and history
Trauma-informed recommendations for responding to behaviours
Emotional regulation strategies tailored to the child’s development
Guidance for educators, parents, carers and support workers
Consideration of safety, connection, sensory needs and relational approaches
Clear, accessible language for use across systems and settings
-
Therapeutic Response Plans are designed for:
Children with complex behavioural or emotional needs
Children impacted by trauma, developmental challenges or disability
Children who are supported by multiple professionals or services
Families navigating the NDIS, school systems or Child Safety
Teams who need a unified, child-centred approach
We work with:
Parents and carers
Educators and learning support staff
Support workers and allied health teams
Child Safety and care teams
NDIS providers and coordinators
-
Therapeutic Response Plans differ from Behaviour Response Plans. They are designed to support and respond to children therapeutically.
Therapeutic Response Plans:
Ensure consistent responses across home, school and community
Reduce escalation and behavioural misunderstandings
Supports emotional safety and regulation for the child
Enhance communication between team members and caregivers
Help systems focus on what’s developmentally and relationally appropriate
Provide clarity during times of transition, distress or change
-
We listen carefully to the child’s story, consult with key adults, and co-design a plan that reflects your setting, values and capabilities. Our TRPs are rooted in:
Attachment and developmental theory
Play-based and regulation-focused frameworks
Evidence-informed strategies that work in real life
Respect for the child’s voice and lived experience
We also provide guidance and consultation alongside the plan to help you feel confident in using it.
-
When you work with us you’ll recieve:
A tailored, practical Therapeutic Response Plan document
A collaborative consultation process to inform the plan
Team feedback sessions or parent consultation
Support in implementing the plan with confidence and care
Let’s work together.
