Parenting Education and Support

Parenting is one of the most important (and most challenging) jobs in the world. When your child is struggling emotionally or behaviourally, it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. At Children’s Therapy Tasmania, we offer compassionate, non-judgemental support to help you feel more confident, connected, and equipped in your parenting journey.

  • Our parenting education and support is designed for:

    • Parents and carers of children aged 3–18

    • Families navigating emotional regulation, big behaviours or trauma

    • Parents of children with NDIS plans or additional needs

    • Caregivers supporting children through grief, separation, or life changes

    • Anyone wanting to build stronger relationships and respond with insight and care

Whether you're at the beginning of seeking help, or deep in the daily challenges, we meet you with warmth, honesty and expertise.

  • We provide a range of supports to help you better understand and respond to your child:

    • Parent Coaching & Education
Personalised support to help you navigate emotional outbursts, behavioural patterns and family dynamics through a trauma-informed lens.

    • Circle of Security™ Parenting Program
A relationship-based program that helps you better understand your child’s emotional world and strengthen your connection.

    • Collaborative Response Planning
Practical, child-centred strategies for parents navigating complex behaviours or high-stress situations.

    • Support for parents of neurodivergent children or children with trauma histories
Approaches that value the child’s unique needs and support co-regulation and connection.

All support is offered with compassion, practical strategies, and a deep respect for your lived experience as a parent.

  • We work alongside you, not as experts on your family, but as compassionate guides who offer insight, support, and space to reflect. Our approach is:

    • Trauma-informed and developmentally sensitive

    • Grounded in attachment and co-regulation principles

    • Respectful of your values, goals, and cultural context

    • Focused on strengthening connection, not control

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. Together, we’ll find what works best for you and your child.

Let’s work together.
