Book a suitability call

Early career child therapy can feel deeply meaningful and quietly overwhelming.

If you’re a child therapist in the early years of practice, you may be carrying complex cases, ethical questions, and emotional weight, while also wondering if you’re “doing enough” or “getting it right”.

This group supervision program is designed to ensure you are not doing this work alone.

Children’s Therapy Tasmania offers a structured, relational, and trauma-informed group supervision space for early career therapists who want to grow their confidence, strengthen their clinical thinking, and feel more supported in their work with children and families.

A Supervision Space Designed Specifically for Early Career Child Therapists

This group supervision program has been intentionally designed for therapists who are still finding their feet in child and family work.

Rather than focusing on performance or “having the right answers”, this group centres:

  • Reflective practice

  • Clinical curiosity

  • Emotional safety

  • Ethical decision-making

  • Therapist wellbeing

You’ll be supported to bring real cases, questions, and uncertainty into the room, without fear of judgement or comparison.

What Makes this Program Different

This is not drop-in supervision or generic case discussion.

This group is a contained, consistent program that allows trust, depth, and learning to develop over time.

The supervision space is:

Trauma-Informed & Relational

Safety and regulation matter here.

Reflective VS Directive

We slow things down to think deeply.

Developmentally Appropriate

Recognising the unique needs of early career therapists.

Ethically Grounded

Supervision as a safeguard for ethical practice and sustainability.

This group honours both the clinical complexity of child therapy and the human experience of being a therapist.

Who this group is for

This group supervision program is suitable for therapists who:

  • Are in the early years of working with children and families (approximately 1–2 years)

  • Work as counsellors, social workers, child therapists, play therapists, psychologists, or allied health practitioners

  • Want to build confidence in clinical decision-making

  • Value reflective, trauma-informed practice

  • Are seeking depth, connection, and thoughtful supervision — not quick fixes

This group may not be the right fit if:

  • You are seeking highly directive or checklist-based supervision

  • You prefer performance-focused feedback

  • You are not currently working therapeutically with children or families

A Thoughtfully Held Supervision Space

Group supervision can feel daunting, particularly early in your career.

This program intentionally addresses common concerns by:

  • Normalising uncertainty and learning curves

  • Creating clear group agreements around safety and respect

  • Encouraging curiosity rather than comparison

  • Supporting therapists to learn from one another’s experiences

You will never be expected to perform, disclose more than you’re ready to, or “have it all figured out”.

You don’t need to be certain. A conversation is often the best place to begin.
